Does Waverazor only work in Mono mode in Digital Performer 9.x?

+1 vote

I know this maybe a DP specific issue.  Waverazor passes the AU inspection, and upon instantiation of the Stereo instance, I get this error:

Digital Performer has encountered an error.

Mas,1 error reported by Mas Audio Unit Support

Failure: Initialize 275 -10868 [-10868]

When I bring up the mono instance, it works fine, just in mono, but when you try to close DP, it crashes.  Both on version 9.12 and 9.13.

It works in Live 9.7.2, but only in Stereo (could not get mono to work at all.)

DP is where I, as well as many others I work with in the film/TV industry, make special effects sounds and soundtracks.  It would be great if this can be fixed so I can recommend it to many people I know in my space.

The sounds are great, and it does some unique things as I have already started creating some new sounds for it..  Hopefully, in a future release, this will run in MOTU Digital Performer?

Thanks!

Waverazor v1.0.2 has been released, and this issue should now be fixed.   I have been able to successfully load Waverazor in DP 9, in either Mono or Stereo modes, and have not experienced any crashing issues.   If problems do persist, please let us know, so we can try to find a fix for DP.

Yikes!  Sorry about that!  I haven't seen this issue, but I'm running Logic over here...  I've posted this as a bug on our internal development tracker so that Rob check it out.  We'll get it sorted.

By the way, if DP generates a crash log, please copy and paste it in here.  That can possibly help us track down the issue.  Many thanks, and sorry again! -T
Looking into this one.   For crash logs, an alternative to posting your crash info here publicly (and they can be kinda big), feel free to email crash logs to info (a) mok.com as well.   Thanks!
Ah right, what Rob said.  Better to email any crash logs to us. - T

I've received confirmation on this bug from another Digital Performer user in v9.13.  Failure to initialize.  I've added this information to our internal development tracker. - T

I am able to reproduce this bug in Digital Performer.   No idea what the issue is, but it only happens when initializing in stereo, as reported here.  Weird stuff...
@salty said it runs in mono, but DP crashes when you close out the program after that.  Were you able to reproduce that part, or did it run fine for you?
I did not get a crash when running in Mono (at any time, including closing DP).   But I did get the reported error trying to create a track with Waverazor in Stereo.  --  those two things may be related, or not, but I will set aside some time to dig into it.

I think I have this fixed for the next release, and have been testing DP9, both Mono/Stereo are working nicely for me.

@salty - I can't seem to figure out how to create a Mono instrument track in Live 9: can you tell me what you were trying to do that didn't work with Mono in Live 9?

Oh, this is great news. Anxiously awaiting a fully functional DP9 release. Hope this happens while the entry point price is still available.
Hello again. For what it's worth I just ran the Waverazor demo in DP9.13 but I shelled it in Bidule 0.9755 because that trick helped me with another synth that doesn't play nicely in DP. In this DP-Bidule-Waverazor setup the synth ran in stereo with no problems at all.
@zahskl - thanks for that update, that is good to know that the issue may be more of a DP specific issue and there is a workaround for now.
@zahskl - yes, the update will happen soon (it is in test now), well within the entry price time ;)  -- I will post again here when that version is available
Fantastic, thank you :)
