Hi @pezni!
In short, the answer to all your questions is yes! All of the capabilities are there under the hood, and we've been using our cryptic development editor to create the available factory patches by accessing those capabilities. However, our goal is to make a more user friendly editor as quickly as possible so everyone can start digging in to the full sonic craziness within Waverazor.
Going into more detail...
Parameters for modulation/automation - Yes, every parameter in Waverazor can be modulated, even lists and on/off switches, not just values. You can have nearly 200 independent mod routes, and the mod routes support curvatures, bipolar operation, and range limits among other things. All the oscillator parameters you mention are available as mod targets (as well as tons of additional parameters throughout the synth, of course).
Knobs, switches, XY - In the editor, these are all assignable macros that can be routed through the modulation matrix, and they are available to your host for automation. Their behavior can be defined in detail, and the knobs and buttons that you've created can be named whatever you want. MIDI CCs can also be assigned to any parameter through the matrix if you want to bypass the layer of main GUI macro controls.
Oscillator wave segments - Each oscillator can have between 1 and 16 segments, and that number can be modulated as well, although I haven't set up a patch to do that (it can have some weird affects on your fundamental frequency). Meanwhile, the length of the segments can be affected by several different parameters. The "Razor" oscillator's frequency is the primary driver of segment length and you can hear what that does by tweaking any Mutant AM knob. Step Size also has an effect, by multiplying and dividing the length of the segments. And Step Frac can be thought of as a fine tune for Step Size.
It should be noted that the "Razor" parameters are only audible if your segments are set to something other than a continuous wave. If they form a perfect sine wave, for example, you won't hear any effect because at that point, it doesn't matter where you slice the wave - it's all continuous. But as soon as you introduce a little detune (or something) to a segment, the "Razor" parameters really start to make a difference.
Edison Effect/Chimera - Yes, you will be able to create patches like this, and even more. Since the cryptic development editor is so slow, I've barely scratched the surface of what Waverazor can do. There is a lot left to be discovered, and I can't wait to see what you guys do with these brand new Waverazor parameters!
All the best,
Taiho
