One oscillator only but with more parameters ?

Hello,

Would it be possible ? that would enable even more sonic possibilities wink

Hi Benoist,

Are you thinking about this as a different mode of operation within the current Waverazor Dual Oscillator module?  That's probably too difficult to do since it would require a different DSP engine configuration and a different Preset file format.  It might be possible to do as an alternate firmware however, like how 1010music allows you to swap firmware on their compatible hardware pieces.  MOK can't swap with them, but we can develop a system to swap within our own firmware sets.

In fact, we do have plans to make firmware swapping happen.  The idea of a more complex Waverazor single oscillator was not on our roadmap, but if it's not too difficult to port, I can see us bringing a full oscillator from the plugin over to the module at some point.  I'll ask Rob about it.  Currently, we are in development for a new synth plugin and a new module, so it might take a while for us to get to this.  It's a cool idea though.  If more people would like to see this, we can prioritize it higher.

All the best,

Hi Taiho,

Yep that's EXACTLY what I had in mind !!

Otherwise it would be nice if the 2 oscillators could have more interactions like the Intellijel Shapeshifter ( the waveforms combinations modes and such ) that could be output on the mix out.

Cheers

Hi Benoist,

The Shapeshifter is definitely cool and provides FM routes within the module, which we can't do directly in ours.

However, our workaround is to run a patch cable from the oscillator 1 audio output back to the CV2 / Audio Input.  Then you can get various flavors of linear and exponential FM between the onboard oscillators if you call up the Waverazor module's FM presets.

You can also use that same patch to run oscillator 1 through oscillator 2's audio input, if you select "audio in" for at least one of the wave segments in oscillator 2.  (Any of the presets can be used as a starting point for this.)  Setting the audio input up this way can give you an interesting "Mutant AM" sound if the oscillators are not pitch tracking exactly the same.

Hopefully, these tricks can help you get even more interesting sounds out of the Waverazor Dual Oscillator right away.  FM and Audio Input Mutant AM are already pretty interesting forms of synthesis, but when you add the Waverazor specific parameters, like the razor step size, things start getting really crazy!  :)

All the best,
Taiho
