MOK - Waverazor 2.6 issues

+1 vote

Greetings,

I'm on the Tracktion Waveform testing team and came across the following, which I shared in that bug report portal, where I was directed to this forum.

Waveform Beta 12.0.31 related?

I created a Waverazor preset with Input audio routing and the saved W preset did not recall those settings. Doing a MOK Save as preset in the GUI worked to save all settings (that I tested).

Also, saving a W edit that uses a saved Waverazor user preset does not recall that preset when re-loading the edit.

UPDATE: Waverazor is saving my user preset in the Waveform edit! The culprit was that I had a W modifier  unintentionally assigned to the Waverazor program function, thus it was flipping through presets via the modifier. This was also causing Waveform to lockup and sometimes crash. I was about to report that issue when I noticed this unintended mod assignment.

Waverazor centric:

I've not explored Waverazor very deeply till now, so I'm likely just missing something obvious, yet I can't get EFX 2 & 3 to sound, no matter how I set levels for the buses. Also, the speaker icon at the top of each EFX slot does not enable / disable the effect. At least I know it does not for EFX 1, which is the only one I can make audible.

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious

P

I'm so sorry for this late response, and thank you so much for helping out with testing!

The Waverazor effects routing is extremely flexible, but that also makes it quite complicated.  I have to stop and think about it myself whenever I want to set things up beyond the INIT patch.

In order to activate effects 2 and 3, you need to turn up levels in at least three places.  Let's start from the INIT patch and use effects 2 for our example.

Under the AMP nav button, turn up EFX2 SND levels in both the Voice Amp Mixer and the Amp ADSR envelope.  Then, under the OUT nav button, turn up the EFX2 RTN level.  That will enable the whole effect bus and you should be able to hear whatever effect your choose for bus 2 at this time.

What I just described enables effects bus 2 in parallel to effects bus 1, but you can also have bus 1 feed into bus 2, or into bus 3.  Additionally, you can have bus 2 feed into 3, or even go completely serial and feed 1 into 2 into 3.  These routings can be set up under the MIX nav button.  In the Pre FX Mixer, you will find levels for EFX1 -> 2 lev, EFX1 -> 3 lev, and EFX2 -> 3 lev.  Use these levels in conjunction with the effects sends and returns to create the routing you want.  The buses can be serial, parallel, or even some combination of both.

One additional thing to note about the INIT patch is that the AMP / Voice Amp Mixer / EFX1 SND level is set to zero.  This is because we've assigned the main page FX MIX macro control to turn it up, allowing the player to hear the effect using that knob.  The FX BYPASS control is also affecting the EFX1 SND level, turning it all the way down.

As for the speaker icon Mute button not working on the effects, those are all active for me in v2.6.0.  You may have run into a bug where they became inactive, but I would need more information on how to reproduce the bug.

Once again, I really appreciate you contacting us, and I apologize for the late response!  I hope this information helps.

All the best,

Taiho

Taiho, thanks for the deeply informative response!

The effects routing is indeed "extremely flexible", and using your tutorial I was able to enjoy the incredibly deep and fun effects features in this amazing plugin.

The speaker icon / mute buttons still don't work for me in most cases. I think I got  one to work, yet others did not do anything. Is there a way to have routing setup in a manner that renders the mute button ineffective? Not sure how to duplicate what I'm seeing. Should I get you the patch that's not working correctly? If so, please let me know how best to get it to you.

Thanks again for the awesome plugin, and support!

I'm glad I could help get you going with the effects.  They are quite fun, especially with all the modulations available.  Using the Bank structure for effect chaining within a single bus is pretty amazing too.  Kudos to Rob Rampley, who coded it all.

That's weird about the mute buttons.  Yes, please send me the patch at our MOK info address.  Let me know which button isn't working, and I'll try to duplicate the issue over here.  Many thanks!

All the best,
Taiho
This is very confusing. I did not figure it myself:
EFX1 -> 2 lev, EFX1 -> 3 lev, and EFX2 -> 3 lev.

It should be like EFX1 -> efx2in. From used schema I assumed that EFX1 will AM EFX2.

While playing with OSC is intuitive and fun, rest is real pain to use. Such as LFO , ENV routing, controls, audio routing is easier but still not much fun - it needs to be turned on at 3 places.

Original poster is right, bypass effect do not work.
