Entering numerical values in the editor

+2 votes
Hi, I'm trialing Waverazor and loving it but I have one little request and it'll be an instant purchase.

Can we please have the ability to enter in numerical parameter values manually with the computer keyboard? For example, often I want to manually set the pitch bend range of an oscillator but it's practically impossible to get it exactly at the hundreds of cents value that I want using the knob. Holding control down does help to slow the motion of the knob, but it's still not fine enough and I can never get it exact. It would be far better to just be able to click the knob, type in my value and hit enter. This would be desirable not just for bend range but for every parameter in the editor. Please and thank you in advance!

Thanks so much for weighing in on this!  I'm totally with you.  We have a feature request logged for this already and I will add your vote.  We just haven't had a chance to implement it yet.

The issue is always about balancing the different priorities of our 3-person company against our available time.  I know that isn't very helpful, and I'm bummed I don't have a better answer for you...  Currently, we are thinking about an update for Waverazor sometime after we release Miniraze.  We'll have to see how it goes.

Waverazor will definitely get some love next year, as it's the 5th anniversary of its release.  We have some new features planned, and we want to make improvements to the user interface for clarity, speed and ease of use.  Typing in numerical values definitely fits within this group.

Once again, thanks so much for taking the time to let us know how important this is to you.  For what it's worth, it's important to me as well.

All the best,

Taiho

Thank you Taiho. Totally understand the challenges of juggling priorities with a small team and a big to-do list. Just knowing that it's on the list is good enough for me. This synth is a unique beast and I have quickly fallen in love with it. Keep being awesome.

Aw, thanks Brendan!  We will strive to live up to your kind words!
I've gone ahead and bought a license. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this synth! All the best.
Oh my gosh, thank you!  I'm so stoked!  :)

As you explore Waverazor, if you ever have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Warmest regards,
Taiho
Standard for editing on screen value in synths is ctrl + left mouse click on number. In WR you can CTRL + mouse drag knob to fine tune.

I think reason why people want this feature is because you have linear knobs. It annoys me too for dialling small values.

On real synths or expensive $200 soft synths knobs are not linear. For example editing famous supersaw detune on Roland JP-8000 knob range is divided into 3 parts and every part is steeper linear segment.

You already have this functionality (non linear knobs) in WR but its not used where it matters such as attack, decay time.
